They emphasized that sustainability can be promoted through everyday actions and expressed hope that their own practices will encourage more small and medium-sized business owners to take part.

Tsai-Tang Yeh, CEO of Chyuan Fa Honey, said: “In an era that urgently requires action, we understand that companies must actively take part in social responsibility, especially in environmental protection. Through our partnership with Richten Energy, we are not only showing our commitment to combining tradition with innovation, but more importantly demonstrating how much we value ESG principles. Our new signage uses Richten Energy’s patented colored solar PV technology. It is not only visually appealing, but also a concrete action to reduce carbon emissions and support net-zero goals.”

Weili Hsueh, CEO of Richten Energy, said: “Adopting solar technology is a forward-looking decision. However, traditional flat-panel installations have often been constrained by available land area. Following the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference, where countries called for a major increase in renewable energy capacity worldwide, expanding the usable surface area for renewable energy generation has become an important issue for governments around the world.”

Hsueh added: “Richten Energy’s colored solar PV panels can help address glare concerns on vertical surfaces while creating more opportunities for green energy generation in urban areas. When combined with IP licensing or designer-created visuals, the technology can also enhance the visual character of a city. This collaboration reflects our practical commitment to promoting renewable energy use and responding to the United Nations’ 2050 net-zero emissions goal. We believe that through innovative applications like this, we can help combat climate change and make a tangible contribution to a more sustainable future.”

From a business-value perspective, they can also help shift conventional signage from an expense item into a form of investment, turning long-term depreciation into daily sunlight-driven green energy value and potential carbon credit-related assets.

The Administration of Commerce under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs established the Excellent Long-Standing Store recognition to encourage businesses that have operated for more than 60 years to preserve their distinctive core values, pursue sustainable operations, carry forward the wisdom of long-standing business owners, and continue innovating.

The Brand Golden Ship Award, organized by the General Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of China since 2019, was created to promote the international expansion of Taiwanese brands by identifying high-quality brands with global potential and helping private enterprises find pathways into overseas markets.

The collaboration between Chyuan Fa Honey and Richten Energy is not only a business innovation, but also a strong commitment to environmental protection and social responsibility. Bringing together a century-old business and a sustainability-focused technology company, the partnership shows how companies from different generations and industries can work together to combine business success with environmental sustainability and set an example for society.
